Warsaw DC23 #0013

This is my shameless attempt at replicating the jarring shape of the infamous Strandberg Boden, but with their patented bits remove, and my own artistic flair mashed in. Beyond the general shape, this is where things start to diverge. From an intricate spalted maple top that originally inspired me to name this guitar “The Moth”, to a solid Indian rosewood neck with walnut skunk stripe, this thing is a thing of beauty.

Many firsts for me as a builder in this one:

  • Solid one piece neck/fretboard construction

  • Spoke wheel truss rod

  • Headless design

  • Working with spalted maple which can turn to dust if you’re not careful

  • 23 frets, for some reason?

This one takes the cake in time spent and experimentation than any of my other builds to date. It was fun! As such with all of my prototypes, the next Warsaw will move away from this shape and be more of an original design.

DC23 = Double cut, 23 fret
